First documented mention of the village in 1172. Owned by the Mascheroni Stianti family. Organically certified viticulture. Sites up to around 400 metres altitude (among the highest vineyards in Chianti Classico). Wine Spectator ranked one of the estate's vintages among the world's top three wines (exact year varies by source).
